That sheriff is too awesome. And the supergirl is crazy hot.
First of all, those are some dead awesome sketches. My favorite is the top one. I completely love the way you ink/shade things. And I like that the guy's got one sleeve (or side of his shirt, as it were) completely gone.
Nice Supergirl, too. I like the pose, and the eyes and hair. I'm not up on my Supergirls, so I frankly don't know what the current one's even like, but this one's good.
The current Supergirl has a little belly shirt and is drawn by Ian Churchill. She looks like a club kid. I don't like that because I have a lingering crush on the original Supergirl from the sixties, and the current one doesn't seem like someone I'd like to know at all. She needs to be cuter and more wholesome!
Your Supergirl looks very Portlandy to me for some reason. Excellent drawing.
Dude-- Why do you think I live here?
Les, Les, Les. I love that Supergirl. Can I put her on my website and give you all the credit in the world?
(And yes, I love the Western Characters too, but c'mon, it's Kara...)
I love the short hair on Supergirl, hehe!
love that third one especially -- I think the next official 24-hour comic day is in October? I'd love to see these guys in a story!
October? Ohhh... by then I'll probably have forgotten all about my idea. Maybe I ought to have my own 24-hour comics day. With clowns! And a trained bear!
I sense a new meme approaching!
That Supergirl is so cute. I LOVE the hair. That is some of the best hair I've seen since Ramona Flowers. It would be so practical for flying, too!
Cool, cool, cool, cool and cool! Awesomeness all around!
Man, that second one of the big dude, with the vest on, so awesome. I keep thinking that the kid in the first drawing has his arms folded on top of the trunk he's carrying though. Then I get confused.
re: arms folded. ME TOO!!!
also, supergirl is supercute. A+
Those Western characters are pretty amazing. Especially the big guy.
And, Supergirl is super hot. I'm not much of a comic book reader [yeah, I should be shot, I know, I know. I've got some Marvel comics, though. Never had any DC, so I don't know what to compare her to.], I've basically only seen Supergirl on the Saturday morning cartoons. This one looks nothing like her. This one's like a real [cute] teenage girl, and not a fake little girl.
As for the 24-hour comic day thing, I think it should be once a month, at least. Like the first of each month, or the second Tuesday of each month, or something along those lines.
It may be because I read too much Cracked as a kid, but I see a little John Severin in those western characters. I'd love to read that comic if you do it.
You know what's weird? I was sort of thinking of Severin's western work when I was first thinking about this, but decided to go in a different direction with the sketches. Maybe I didn't move as much away from it as I thought?
Dig that sheriff!
Supergirl's outfit looks a little out-of-date to me. You should make her outfit look even more like what the kids are wearing these days
. ;-P Actually, that might be rather amusing now that I think about it...
Damn kids with their baggy pants and grocery-bag shirts...
excellent supergirl, les! the cool younger sister kinda vibe is really rocking here. i also just love how you handle fabric.
it's funny, i've been working on a new sg pic this week to kick off a meme, but yours is a great starting point already! i'll try to finish my new one up tonight. :D
SUPERGIRL MEME IS GO.http://dryponder.livejournal.com/103442.html
But someone on newsarama says "I hate the hair."
The indian looks like your style mixed w/ Joe Kubert's.
I don't know, that's how I see it.
I can see it. This new brushpen is doing strange things to my work and I kind of like it.
